74 years young and his Acura TL
Vehicle
2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl 5A)
Review
From the day I picked up the car, it has been a sheer pleasure to drive and own. Previously I had a '98 Acura TL. This '06 is something to behold. Cornering is fantastic with not even a hint of sliding in your seat, oversteering or any other malady. The interior is camel colored and the exterior is Redondo Red Pearl. The combination makes it look like a million dollars. It is tight and the sound system is out of this world. I only have one of the DVD CDs but am looking to increase my collection because of sheer quality you receive with as compared to the regular CD. The only complaint I have is the cup holder. It is not designed for a coffee mug, only the stryofoam tapered ones.
Favorite Features
Appearance and comments from friends neighbors and friends, handling, steering, tight fit of components, large trunk w/ pass thru for skis. Quality of materials used and the extremely high lustre of it's finish.
Suggested Improvements
Re-design the cup holders so that they will hold a regular coffee mug. You cannot get the mug out of the holder after it has been inserted. Obviously, the holders were only designed to accept the stryofoam cups which are tapered. This should be changed. Everyone doesn't just drink Starbucks coffee.

Great TL but has some flaws
Vehicle
2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl 5A)
Review
Bought in July performs flawlessly on freeway. Quiet & very comfortable love the XM on desolate roads. Awesome highway mileage @ 31mpg going 75+mph! Great exterior & bi-xenons are invaluable. Love the interior blue hue color. To contrast its great features, in city its different. Must drive very very conservative to get decent mpg. Suspension rough over hard surfaces. Steering not responsive like TSX. Been to dealer 6 times; driver window rattling, trunk latch inop, headliner sagging took 3 attempts to fix! Now rough idle @ startup & weird idle fluxuations! Our many loaner TSXs are tempting us. Our 99 TL was made better. Never had rattling noises or tranny issues even at 160k what a car.
Favorite Features
A superb highway cruiser, low noise, great mpg, & great bi-xenons @ night. Great user settings for each driver; lights off, auto door lock, etc. Interior ergonomics top notch, great design, good quality. XM radio, much standard equipment!
Suggested Improvements
Improve quality of assembly. Too many flaws, sagging headliner, rattling noises, need new service techs. Improve auto trans, more control over manual mode. Why no MP3? Bose needs to return. Good stereo but no bottom end. Softer suspension/quieter in town.

My 2006 TL with Navigation
Vehicle
2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan w/Nav System (3.2L 6cyl 5A)
Review
I purchased this car on July 19th 2006, and it is by far the best car I have ever owned! I am getting 26-29 mpg all the time. The looks both inside and out make this car look far more expensive than it is. The sound system is INCREDIBLE! I just wish that the DVD- A discs were easier to find in stores and not just on-line!
Favorite Features
Sound system... WOW! Navigation system is much easier to use than my Mini Cooper S I had 2 years ago. I love the ease of the features on the dash and console... easy to use for everyone! The total layout of the dash is WONDERFUL!
Suggested Improvements
A bit softer ride on broken pavement would be nice. Keyless entry and start like "Mazda"! I would like to see auto on and off headlights and auto windshieled wiper system. A bit more power added to the subwoofer would be better as well!

WARNING to driving enthusiasts
Vehicle
2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan (3.2L 6cyl 6M)
Review
I sure wish I had test driven this car more before buying it. I just traded in my 2006 6 speed TL with only 5,900 miles on it. This car is really nice in some ways and I possibly would have kept it if I had bought it with an automatic, but it definitely is not a "driver's" car. I really wanted to like this car, I've owned two Accords and two Integras, all of which were great cars w/manual transmissions. I went so far as to replace the stock all season tires with summer only tires and I even thought long and hard about buying the A-Spec suspension, which you can find on e-bay now. I was prepared for a little torque steer, but not for the complete lack of involvement.
Favorite Features
Engine (9 out of 10), 6 Speed Transmission (9); Brakes (8.5); Stereo (10); Bluetooth (8); Interior Design (9); Quietness (8); HID Headlights (9); Fit and Finish (8); Value Retention; Winter ability; Insurance Cost; Back seat comfort; Probable reliability and durability.
Suggested Improvements
The suspension is way too soft for the 6 speed w/upgraded brakes, at least give us a sport package for under 2k; ZERO to NIL ROAD FEEL; twitchy handling and slight vibration at 80 to 85 with both sets of tires; nose dive; Easily unsettled by bumps when cornering; front seat bottoms are uncomfortable.

Comfort, Class, & Honda Reliable

2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan w/Nav System (3.2L 6cyl 5A)
Review
My wife needed to replace her aging Jag so we went looking and she drove a 2 year old Acura TL with 47K that was in dealer's lot. It was as sturdy as rock - no squeaks, rattles, or signs of aging. And the very best Nav System on any car I've seen. After driving the competitors, we returned to the dealer and bought a brand new TL. After 5 months, no problems, no regrets. I'm the sportscar type (S2000) but I keep finding reasons to drive the Acura. Just wish it was RWD - on hard acceleration from very low speed I can feel the torque steer. Other than that, no complaints.
Favorite Features
Fantastic and usable Navigation system. Superb sound system, excellent driving position. Cool blue instrument lights. Very, very comfortable.
Suggested Improvements
Better auto trans gear ratios for city driving, steering wheel toggles for the trans., auto headlights.

2003TL to 2006 TL
Vehicle
2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan w/Nav System (3.2L 6cyl 5A)
Review
We loved the 2003, but wanted to get the navigation system and the blue tooth capability. 2006 has more power and more air bags. Great XM radio. great service at the dealer Front head rests are too big blocking view out the side and rear. Passenger seat is too low for short folks. Ride is OK on smooth road, but rough on broken pavement.
Favorite Features
power, handling, great leather, dealer service, XM radio
Suggested Improvements
smaller headrests, return to smoother suspension, detune engine to run on regular grade fuel. make passenger seat 8 way adjustable.

Great car
Vehicle
2006 Acura TL 4dr Sedan w/Performance Tires, Nav System (3.2L 6cyl 6M)
Review
Second Acura I've owned. Test drove the competion before I bought but Acura was at the head of the pack. Instrumentation is easy to read and controls are intuitive. The voice command system required close attention to the manual at first and mating my Blue Tooth cellphone to the car required a quick visit to the dealership to set up. The car is very fast off the line and the auto transmission shifts are silky smooth. Great fun to drive and the A Spec package with 18" tires lets it corner like a dream. This extra was definatily worth it.
Favorite Features
The Navigation system is tremendous and easy to use. The quality of the sound system in this car would be tough to beat. My previous 1998 CL had a Bose system but the Acura in- house system in my new TL is definitely superior. Service provided at all Acura Dealerships is first class.
Suggested Improvements
CD/DVD capacity could be higher then only 6 discs. Fog lamps would be a nice option. The annual updated GPS DVD's for the Navigation system should be compementary for at least the first 5 years of ownership
Glad I got it!!!

I agonized buying a '06 TL verses a '06 MB E350. I know, it sounds crazy. I owned several Mercedes Benz over 9 yrs and my friends say it's in my blood. All were shocked when I bought a black TL w/ Nav and 18" chrome wheels. The value is tremendous. Yes, the MB has status but look at the MB reliablity...it's bad. My mechanic is now a well-to do man. The TL has much more to offer and the sound system is great. I highly recommend the Nav. It adds a whole new dimension to the car.
Favorite Features
Sound system with DVD audio, style, comfort, acceleration at 60+ mph; Nav with voice control
Suggested Improvements
Auto head lights, driver's door needs to stay open easier
