Driving to Kansas City, MO tomorrow morning (I live in Omaha, NE) to pick up a 2012 Acura TL SH-AWD Advance package. The car is white with ebony interior, has 2200 miles on it (someone bought it and decided they wanted an SUV). I am paying $38,500 +$249 doc fee. I am trading in my loaded 2006 VW Passat 3.6. Passat has every option except 4motion. I am getting ~$8500 for ... Read More
My 2006 Acura Tl bluetooth also stopped working. I researched and after hours and hours of research, I got the answer. Oemacuraparts has the bluetooth module for $185 including shipping and tax--its under the interior lighting section--TELEPHONE ASSY., HANDS FREE *NH528L* (MOON LAKE GRAY)--they also have the two other colors. They shipped me the part in 3 days---its the exact part and color of my current overhead console. I looked up ... Read More
I have the same issue described with my 2006 Acura TL. I am planning on using bulletin 05-020 to replace the HFL unit myself. This would be my first foray into messing with electronic components in a car. Am I correct in assuming I should disconnect the car's battery before opening up the roof console and replacing the HFL? Or is that overkill for this type of project?
I have an Acura 2006 TL that has a squeaking noise evertime you step on the gas or brake. It appears to be something under the shift console. Possibly something like a stabalization bar or frame issue coming from the under carriage. Anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions?
Thanks for your reply! I took my 2006 Acura TL for maintenace service on 10/22 and to my amazement they took care of my HFL without much hassle. I did agree to pay $50, since some of the other messages commented that they agreed to pay a minimal amount to ensure they have a warranty on the newly installed HFL.
Just so you know--I purchased a CPO 2005 Acura TL 3 yrs ago and also have the extended 100,000 mile warranty. The HFL failed about a year and a half ago. I called the dealer where I purchased it, brought it in and said I was not paying for it because it should be covered and they did not charge me. The dealer told me normally without the Warranty I would ... Read More
I brought my 2006 TL for A service on Saturday and to see why my HFL wasn't working. I was told it is not covered by warranty (I purchased the 100,000 extended warranty). I bought a 2007 TL and I also noticed power steering issues from day one. In my case the issue is at idle, which makes parking a 2 hand job at times. I did some investigation by comparing it to my friend's 2006 TL and to other 2007 TLs at the dealership, and by talking to the maintenance team at Sunnyvale Acura. The 2006 model felt normal. My HFL died on me 2 days ago, and after reading the countless stories of other peoples identical issues, I too am disgusted with the situation. I have a 2006 TL that looks like new, and never expected the car to have a dead HFL. Acura needs to step up. After 2 Honda's and now an Acura... I guess they made their money on me.
Hello, I just came back from the Thomas Acura Dealer because my Hands Free Bluetooth is stuck in "booting" and they quoted me 699.99 for unit. This did not include installation. I have a 2006 Acura TL. 4.5 years and it failed. They told me it is a common problem and have these Bluetooth Control Units in stock. I am not going to pay over 700.00 for this!! I am on-board ... I have a 2006 Acura TL, I have noticed some power issues lately. The clock has been reset a couple of times over the past week. This morning, there was no power, and when I slammed the glove compartment shut, the power came on. I am pretty sure it's not the battery, maybe wiring or the computer? Thanks for any help.
Same thing happened to me with my 2006 TL. It stopped transmitting the HandsFree signal. I was quoted $700 from Acura to have it replaced. Although I would ideally like the built in bluetooth to be working, as I used it regularly, I don't think this is something that should have died on me after only owning the car 4 years and I don't want to give Acura money for something ... I just wanted to provide an update. Get your facts straight before you go bad mouthing an entire brand. To anyone else, if you get an Acura model 2006+, you'll have little to no worry about transmission issues. I guess you neglected to check the Acura transmission problem section on Edmunds. There are many posts about transmission and clutch problems in 2006 vehicles, not just 2005 and prior models. Remember, it took several years before the transmission problems surfaced regarding the transmission failures of TLs from 1999-2005. Now the problems with the 2006 transmissions are surfacing. Next year we may hear about problems from 2007. Acura's customer service and ... Read More

Basically, I was purchasing in the DFW area and got several quotes from local dealers. The first gave me a quote but would not honor it when I got there (Lying); the second quoted me a price, but then said the quote did not include ... Read More
I am driving a 06 TL. It's got great style and class. I can take the girlfriend out on a Friday night with my 06 TL and yet drive my mother to Sunday Church. You know what I mean......the car is COOL for the ladies and comfortable for the family. I had a 2001 3.2 TL before and had driven it for years. The handling was great, smooth SMOOTH acceleration (feels ... Read More
Might try Acura TL Audio for that.
I'm looking to have a custom stereo installed in my 2006 Acura TL w/ Nav. The existing system is great for stock, but not quite what I'm looking for. I was wondering if anyone has done this to their car and what suggestions / feedback you may have. I'm thinking of getting a 10" or 12" top of the line subwoofer w/amp (I would ideally like only 1 as opposed to ... Read More
The thing to do is to read up on the car - I've heard shared AWD, but that's about it - some people say hard drive, but it's hard to know what's reliable. Nevetheless, if you can figure out what changes are in the works, you can figure out whether it's worth the wait. 1 other option to toss out there. If you're concerned about new model year cars, you could ... Read More
I just picked up a 2006 TL (Private Party transaction) in Anchorage, AK. I mention that because we only have (1) Acura dealer in the state. That lack of competition seems to have inflated prices up here when compared to lower 48 pricing. You can buy in Seattle and ship up here but that usually adds at least another $1,000 to the cost of the vehicle. Here's what I got for ... Read More
This information may be dated, but hopefully it helps you out somewhat. I bought my 2006 Acura TL 5speed AT with Navigation brand new in June, 2006 for $32,750. Quite honestly, I may have been able to get a slightly better deal, but I had burned my bridges at all the other dealerships who blatantly tried to screw me. I did my homework, and based on the average price people in ... Read More
I read your post, and I feel I must respond. I am currently leasing a 2006 BMW 325i and I have to say the "free maintenence" has been nice..........the car has been to the dealer 5 times for electrical/engine/exhaust issues!! The o2 sensor went out at 6,000 miles!! My trunk unlocks, then immediately locks itself if I use the key fob......you MUST use the inside the car release......dealer can't figure it ... Read More
I've got Michelins on my 2006, 25k and they look pretty much brand new. If you don't rotate the tires regularly on any car the front tires will show excessive wear pretty quick.
Rotating the tires on my TL was the key to getting the most mileage out of them (michelins). Still, I think the most I got was 20k. The car eats tires. Some people have had good luck w/ other brands. Search the TL forum for "replacement tires". I don't believe the oem tires have a warranty on them, so michelin probably won't be sympathetic.
Iam expeiencing balding on my 2 front tires after 14000 miles the dealer acura and michelin is giving me the run around how should i frame a letter to acura and to whom should i send it too
