I just purchased my 2004 TL this
afternoon. It's my second, my first
being a 2000 which we kept. The TL
still rates as a great value even if
they have raised the price a bit. The
fuel economy is excellent considering
the engine makes 270 hp but the
premium fuel requirement is
unfortunate given the current prices.
This version is much improved over the
last generation. I think Acura has
really put some distance between the
TL and the Lexus ES 330. But they
still won't let me take control of the
first to second shift with the
automatic transmission. That detracts
from the fun a bit.
It's a great total package. Does
everything well. No real flaws, like
the Accord only super-sized. I have
to admit that I like the blue lighting
in the gauges.
RWD or AWD. Give me the first to
second shift with the automatic
transmission. Extend the rear a bit
more. It's cut off too abruptly.
Having had BMWs and Acuras for the past
30 years, I can assert this is one of
my favorite two of all time. It is far
far superior to my 2001 3.2TL and much
more responsive on mountain curves than
my previous 3.5RL. I love it!!

2004 Acura TL Sedan 3.2 4dr Sedan w/Navigation System (3.2L 6cyl 5A)
This car is a dream to drive. Can't
beat the value this car offers, and it
should hold up well if Acura's past
performance is any indicator. I drove
and researched a lot of cars in this
class, and I don't think you can beat
the TL for the money. NICE
NAVI is unbelievable, XM Radio,
soundsystem, bluetooth, the cool blue
lights inside, etc etc etc
The brake light seems to light up the
entire back window red, which makes it
difficult to see when backing
up...rear headrests should be a bit
lower to allow for better rear vision.
Best car ever in all respects except
the ride and seats. The ride is a bit
harsh and the front seats are not
comfortable on a trip. Not enought
padding on the bottom and the side
bolsters are too close even for my
weight and size (175 lbs/6 feet)
Engine performance, good
torque,transmission, handling, Stero,
XM, DVD audio,quietness-no wind noise
even at 85 mph! Outstanding except the
ride & seats.
