I test drove 2009 TL and 2009 TSX today
Written by: djdj on Nov 1, 2008 5:49:44 PM
I drove the TSX first. Very nice but between the TSX-Tech (I just want the 6 disc changer) and the TL - nonTech (I don't need Nav) it is only a $3,000 diff. I liked them both. The TL has lots of power that comes on easily and more room. The TSX will move but the engine's RPM soars and it gets a bit loud. I found I preferred the TSX ... Read More

If you think a Honda/Acura transmission needs to be replaced every 30k miles, you have not driven or owned a Honda/Acura. Honda had real problem with transmission in 2001-2003. 2009 TL looks ugly and too big. I think sales of TL will drop a lot. My girlfriend saw it on the road and think that it is new Saturn model.

Though there's alot of drug testing needed around here the guy who mentioned the new Mazda 6 knows what he's talking about. I went straight from the Mazda dealership to the Acura dealership (what a difference that was, but more about the dealerships later in my post). The new Mazda 6 is not the tiny mid-size car of yesteryear. I've rented that small Mazda 626 back a few years ago and ... Read More

Disappointed...

Count me in on the disappointed crowd. I'm a big Honda/Acura fan, but really don't like the new TL much at all...maybe it will grow on me? Shouldn't have to for a $30k+ car! On the other hand, I like the new TSX. The slight up-sizing doesn't bother me on that one, and the interior is great...if it only had a bit more power. Was looking to get out of my ... Read More

09' Looks and MPG
Written by: marc52 on Jul 27, 2008 9:42:39 AM
As far as I can see the car will take some getting used to but I am actually surprised and somewhat excited. I was not in favor of the last generation TL and need to see the interior and the whole car up close before I make a decision. Let me ask a question, I currently own a 2001 TL which is a very good car, I get 19 MPG in ... Read More

Actually they are taking care of it under the warranty. They called me and stated that they had to purchase the new leather and it was covered under the warranty. I'm very pleased!

Even in warranty.. your seats may not be covered.. If it burst at a seam, then they will probably cover it.. If it looks like it has been punctured? Then no chance... If the leather looks stretched/worn.. they may also attribute it to wear and tear... All that said... If you have very low miles, and no puncture is present... They should fix it.. How they will fix it, ... Read More

You've got really low mileage on the car, but you may be out of warranty already, based on the age of the car and when you purchased it. It might be a crapshoot whether or not the dealer will repair it under warranty.

Yes, it actually ripped open.. I was shocked...It's @ Davis Acura right now and hopefully it won't be a problem. Personally, that's a defect in workmanship to me.

Has anyone had a problem with the leather seats ripping? Yesterday our drivers side seat ripped on the back side.. I'm hoping the dealer will have no problem replacing this.. Any ideas? The car is still under warranty. Only 9,600 miles.

Like I said before, I dont mind about the recall. But I will be, if they found something wrong but refusing to recall the vehicle. I hope every car manufacturer will do the same. I saw BMW did it, Chrysler, Mazda, Honda, Infiniti, Ford etc. did it. The RL that you mentioned above is 5 years old news, and its also Acura that inititated the recall. Even with the most ... Why would Honda recall the early 04s if there was not a problem? There have also been documented cases of these 04s breaking down. I realize this is an Acura TL owners forum, but do not overlook the fact that failures are happening in all of hondas lineup including the accord and odyessy. Honda knew there was a problem with this transmission as early as 2000 or so, and chose to ... Read More

Re: No transmission failure (Recall is NOT failure) [1hopeck]

I am not arguing about the recall for the earlier build. Its true for earlier build and like I said its OLD NEWS. Mine is not one of them. NO RECALL on mine If you read my post carefully, I said "COMPLAINT" not recall. Look under complaint. Even with the earlier build that was recalled, there is no evidence of complaint about transmission failure. At least no data on NHTSA for ... Read More
