Civic Si or Acura RSX Type-S?

Re: Civic Si or Acura RSX Type-S? [nitrousxl]

The Civic Si actually has a wider final gear than the RSX. So technically, the RSX is indeed faster while the Civic could THEORETICALLY get better gas mileage. In essence, the RSX is actually a better car than the Civic, in terms of build quality and suspension tuning as well. However, the Civic Si has much more to offer for the money, as a fully equipped one will cost ... Read More...

Acura RSX Maintenance and Repair

Re: Replace headlight [jmwakin1]

I replaced the drivers side headlight on my 2004 RSX. IT IS NOT EASY BY ANY STRETCH OF THE IMAGINATION. The procedure was more involved than what the owner's manual suggested. I had to remove the battery (well...okay), then unfasten the washer bottle filler tube from the body. From this point forward, it gets hard because you can't see what you're doing AT ALL. ... Re: After market parts on RSX [rsxdriver]

I've never heard of that either. Are you sure that the "body shop" knows what a throttle even is? The body shop should repair the body and have the Acura dealer repair the engine. In 2005, Toyota switched from cable-based throttles to electronic throttles on several models. Based upon Jackson Racing's failure to make superchargers for the Acura RSX-S beyond ... Read More...

Acura RSX (All years/types)

clestype

Remove stickers - I have used bug and tar remover or WD-40 - both worked OK - but it still took some effort. Back in January of 2004 I looked at the RSX - ended up with a nightmare lemon Mazda3 - main reason I did not buy the RSX was the lack of side curtain air bags - (the low power output of the base engine didn't help much either -(I need the automatic). The 2006 Civic has ... Read More...

Acura RSX MPG-Real World Numbers

29 MPG

I've got a 2004 Acura RSX Type-S. I use the Fuel Log at GasBuddy to track my MPG. In 2005 I logged an average of 28.91 MPG. This was mostly highway driving at around 70 MPH. The best I ever got was on one trip home from another state on secondary roads averaging around 50 MPH, I got 34.16 MPG on that trip. So far in 2006, I'm averaging 28.4 MPG. This is on snow tires. In the ... Read More...

Mini Cooper v. Hyundai Tiburon v. Acura RSX v. Subaru WRX

My apologies for this long post. i actually test-drove all of these...

... and stayed the heck away from the GTI while I was making a decision for buying this year. I owned a 72-73 Fastback, and had 2 friends who later owned a Scirocco and a Golf. Of the 3 Volkswagens, the Fastback seemed to be the best car. The Scirocco and the Golf both developed electrical problems - the worst was when both cars' power windows got stuck during the winter ... Read More...

Acura RSX (All years/types)

Gas and Price

I own a 2004 RSX, manual with about 25,000 miles. I enjoy every aspect of the vehicle. It is sporty, comfortable, fun to drive, very efficient, and it has Acura quality. I must admit that I live in New Hampshire, and do not experience much in the way of "city" driving. My normal driving is in the 40 - 70 mph range, but I consistently get 38-41 mpg per tank on low test gas. ... Read More...

Re: joaorv [nitromax]

Sure hope so! that Type-R looks very sweet, limited slip diferential, momo wheel, brembo breakes, and this page i found estimates the 0-60 at arround 5.5 secs, but they have a desclaimers that is a power calculation and not from a road test. Macau is very wierd as far as cars go, we get some stuff then don't get other and there are many diferent car dealers, there is ... Read More...
