Acura RL - would you purchase it again?

  • Re: So would you do it again? [michael0137]

Written by: jensad on Jan 16, 2012 12:29:28 PM

I also own an 08 rl and I also love the vehicle. We have driven across the country and back, and now we have 63k and (knock on wood) no problems yet. Just got the oil n filter changed and so far very cheap to own and operate. Wife has an 2010 MDX and it will be our new cross country car as I hope it too does what I expected ... Read More

Hi naivecarbuyer. Manufacturers' advertised lease payments are usually reasonable deals, however they also usually can be beaten by savvy consumers who live in areas that have a decent level of competition. It makes sense if one thinks about it. Dealers would be pretty irritated with their manufacturers if they advertised the thinnest possible deal on a vehicle. Shop around for the lowest possible selling price on the RL that you want ... Read More

Hi nyboy. The $4,000 dealer cash that Acura is providing on the 2010 RL is scheduled to run though November 1st. As a general rule, manufacturers do not advertise dealer cash incentives, but you can look up the programs that are available on various vehicles in the Incentives Section of Edmunds.com. Hi gb350. Is the 2011 RL at dealers yet? The last time I checked, Acura hadn't published a lease program for it. Here's the numbers for the 2010 model, in case you're interested. Honda Finance's September buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2010 RL Tech with 15,000 miles per year are .00100 and 44%, respectively assuming that you qualify for its top ... I previously owned an 05 and had no problem. Has any one had a similar experience? Does anyone know about any fix? Acura wasn't any help.

I just put a deposit on a 2010 Acura RL without nav , which I do not need, MSRP 47680, paid 40,400 incl 2.9 financing, drove the TL, TL does not compare to the RL, RL feels much more solid and the interior is much higher quality, I am ok with the outside, at the price I paid I feel I got a great deal.

Acura RL Seats

  • Acura RL seats are too hard (2010 model).

Written by: bellhead on Aug 2, 2009 9:04:03 AM

I sat in an 2010 Acura RL and found the seats too hard, especially in the thigh support area. The TL seats are better, softer but still supportive. I hope Acura puts somewhat cushier seats in the upcoming 2011 generation. I found the seats in the previous generation (2004 and earlier) better, not nearly as firm. Seat comfort is critical for me in a car, ahead of all other factors.

After reading all the articles, blogs, and comments, there appears to be overwhelming dislike for the new RL. Vehement, even. Some talk about a complete redesign in 2010, but this 4-year turnaround for the RL redesign was pretty quick for Honda, so I'm not so sure about another complete redesign after only one year. I haven't heard anything about a 2010 redesign other than the blogs. Of course, I too wish ... Read More

BBRIMMER, The condition of the 2004 RL would have to be spectacular to even consider the choice to begin with. Having said that I have driven the new 2008 Accord and thought it to be an excellent car. It has Acura all over it. My wife and I have owned Hondas since '83 and Acura's since '96. Personally I would lean heavily toward the new Accord in this case. Good Luck. ... Read More

Next RL will get a v8 for the first time. The 09 TL will actually rival the 09 RL. The new TL will have features that will rival the 09 RL. The 09 RL will have to soldier on until 2010 when the MY11 RL will come out. The 09 TL looks like a current 2 Door civic mixed in with Camry. Does have a grill similar to the 09 RL ... Read More

They did a good job on making the interior more luxurious but the ugly "reversed" front door handles should also be changed. Rear styling looks really sharp, not sure about the front end MDX look. A bigger engine is ok but fuel economy is now a poor 22/16. "Lipstick on a pig" is just a figure of speech meaning trying to make something plain more attractive. Didn't mean to offend anybody's RL. I don't find the car that unattractive and almost bought one myself, but bought the TL instead. Even Acura admits that this car just didn't have the sales they anticipated.
