I purchased an 2009 Acura RL two month ago. I'm curious as to what kind of deal you got. Last I checked Acura was selling around 300 RLs a month, which works out to a little more than 1 per dealer. I'm sure they are giving them away now.

I purchased an 2009 Acura RL two month ago. The car looks small from the outside, but I feel it is very roomy inside. It's true that there isn't much room on the backseat if the front seats are moved all the way to the back, but on the other hand they move much more to the back than many other car seats. The car drives great. Enough power, we don't ... Read More

Re: Why No Mention Of The 2009 Acura TL On These Boards? [qbrozen]
Written by: lexusguy on Feb 24, 2009 5:12:34 PM
Hmmm... then what is the IS? And what about the TSX? I'm sorry, but the ES isn't here because it just isn't a mid-lux car. Whether a car is performance oriented, or what wheels are driven doesn't matter. Let's not forget that the A6 is technically available with FWD, but it is still firmly a mid-lux sedan. Entry-lux means $35-50K. They can overlap somewhat in size with the mid-lux class, usually ... Read More

If you notice in the list at the top of the page, the Lexus GS is listed, while the ES is overlooked. Kind of the same reasoning, I believe. Actually it's because the TL, ES, G37, CTS, etc. don't compete in this class. Acura has increased the size and feature content of the TL (making the RL utterly irrelevant in the process) but it's still an entry-level car, one which competes ... Read More

Well.. We started doing the paperwork and it turns out that 0.9% Financing for 2008 RL's has expired on Dec 10th 2008. The lowest I'm able to find is 6% Interest (Thru Dealer or Acura both). Since we were in so deep into negotiations and excitement, The Dealership has offered me $500 over invoice for 2009 RL w/ Tech. (yes, RL, not TL). Dilemma: 1. Should I go with the 2008 ... Read More

Hi desert_rat. Unfortunately, Acura is not providing any dealer cash on the 2009 RL in December. It is only providing 0.9% to 2.9% special financing or a special lease program on it. Car_man Host Prices Paid: Buying & Leasing Experiences Forum

2008 Acura RL Tech Package
Written by: lsemom on Oct 28, 2008 2:19:43 PM
Hi, I went to a dealer in Macon GA yesterday and was quoted $42K+ to buy a 2008 RL Tech Package with 6K miles on it. It was an owner demonstrator and their argument for what I thought was a high price was that the car had never been titled, so it was a "new" car. Essentially, I was told that no one but me would think that the 6K miles ... Read More

As far as I know, the TL is available with SHAwd. And I think thre RL competes against the A6, the 530, MB E350? At least from the size and price level. Maybe I am wrong.

The looks are debatable. The front and rear views don't seem to gel. (Need to see it in person to finally decide) But the car is slow! Handling is important but acceleration is just as important. It's competing with Infiniti M35/45, Lexus LS, BMW 7 series, Audi A8, MB S series- all of which are in the 0-60 mph in ~6 second range or faster. The RL's AWD is welcome but ... Read More

Enter the refreshed 2009 Acura RL CMBS and you'll find a tasteful luxury environment, class-leading telematics and a host of driver-assist systems like CMBS (Collision Mitigation Braking System). Drive it and you'll be even more impressed, as the 2009 RL also has great dynamic qualities thanks to a new, free-revving 300-horsepower 3.7-liter V6, high-tech all-wheel drive and a superb balance between ride and handling. 2009 Acura RL Full Test

Bartalk, Long time since I saw your posts in here...Good to see you again. Automotive News "Tier 1" Does that mean the RL will have finally "arrived"? Edmunds has had the RL in their Luxury Performance Sedans group since 2005 competing with BMW 5 series, Lexus, Mercedes, Audi, Cadillac STS, etc. Looking forward to see what Acura does with the TL next model year. :) We've seen the 2009 RL. 2009 RL - already universally hated?
Written by: tonyinoc on Feb 19, 2008 10:59:33 PM
After reading all the articles, blogs, and comments, there appears to be overwhelming dislike for the new RL. Vehement, even. Some talk about a complete redesign in 2010, but this 4-year turnaround for the RL redesign was pretty quick for Honda, so I'm not so sure about another complete redesign after only one year. I haven't heard anything about a 2010 redesign other than the blogs. Of course, I too wish ... Read More

jjacura - Yes, these are the Ultra Performance Michelins, not the OEM's. Much quieter, stick like glue regardless of road surface, weather, etc. I paid about $238 per tire on special order from Costco, and will replace with the same when necessary. I'm looking to replace the 2005 with a 2009 model, but, in the interest of fairness to all, I'll still have to drive the competition's boxes again. Regardless of ... Read More
