The RL's above-average score is a result of its powerful 3.5-liter engine, comfortable interior and stellar build quality.

The RL features a powerful 3.5 liter engine that puts the power to the ground through a sophisticzated all-wheel drive system. Performance is good, but not breathtaking, largely due to its over two-ton bulk.

Ride is smooth and quiet, but some engine noise intrudes at high rpm where the real power resides. The interior is well appointed and comfortable.

In an attempt to be sophisticated and techie, the RL's interior instead presents the driver with a complicated-looking array of buttons and controls.

Impeccable build quality inside and out. An inviting array of materials are used in the cabin. It's primary downfall is the anonymity of the exterior design.
