UPDATE. After 5,000 miles Iâm quite happy with my RDX. Iâve had no problems with it and everything works the way itâs supposed to. Itâs a pleasure to drive around town â either in Drive or Sport mode â and gets a solid 20 mpg. It really comes into its own on the highway, with terrific acceleration and extremely quiet performance, clocking 28-30 mpg. It seems to run fine on 89 octane. The standard sound system is good enough, and I love the Bluetooth and USB audio, both for phone calls and listening to music. The interior is quiet, well-designed and very relaxing to be in. The car tends to run at very low rpm because of the efficient 6 speed transmission. This is great for fuel economy and quiet performance but it seems to benefit from occasionally revving the engine to 4,000 rpm or so. (Itâs easy to do that using manual mode and upshifting later than usual.) Maybe itâs my imagination, but after doing that the vehicle seems to get a quicker and cleaner start off the line. I noticed, too, that the front wheels slip when accelerating from a stop if the wheels are turned (itâs a front wheel drive model). By using manual shift mode, you can upshift to second before hitting the gas, and the engine will develop less torque and the wheels wonât spin â but youâll still accelerate very well. And it's a fun car!Report it
