The MDX torque converter high failure rate in the earlier models seemed have been fixed by the adoption of the SH-AWD system as opposed to the VTM-4 system used in those early models. Now here we are at 2012 and the torque converter failure issue seems to have yet gain raised its ugly head. The only way I can think of to account for this is some sort of revision to ... Read More
You might take note that the early Lexus RXes, '99-'00, had much the same issue, premature transaxle failures. In the case of the '01+ RX, Lexus changed out the VC fluid formulation to make it less functional and began using trac, frictional braking at the front, to apportion engine torque to the rear. With the advent of the RX330 the VC was dropped entirely. So, whereas Lexus went with the CHEAPER, ... Read More
I live in the Southern Maryland area. I just purchased a 2011 RDX AWD with tech package for an out the door price of $37,936,86 OTD. Vehicle price was $35,431. Up for first oil change on my 2010 RDX. Price of the synthetic change is around $75-$80 at the Acura dealerships I've called. What price should I expect to pay (is this range right) and any advice on alternatives to the dealership for an Acura needing synthetic oil?
Hi, I am new to this forum. I received a quote for Acura RDX 2011 (FWD) Base model for $33,000 (OTD Price) in dallas region. The vehicle comes with window tint, wheel locks, and nitrogen air tires. Is this a good deal? Thanks, Ram
I just purchased my 2011 RDX SH AWD (no tech) in silver this weekend in Elmhurst, IL for $32,336 + Destination + TTL. They also threw in a remote start/alarm which I wanted and three years free maintenance. Hello jaeroe21. This doesn't look like a very attractive deal to me. The dealer invoice price of a base 2010 Acura RDX is currently $31,113. If one subtracts the available $1,000 dealer cash from that it drops to around $30,113. That's nearly $2,500 over invoice after the acquisition fee is backed out. If I was in the market for this vehicle right now, I personally would shoot for a price of ... Read More

You're very welcome, emmagee. Acura is not currently providing any dealer cash on the 2010 RDX, but it does have a special lease program on it. Though its "special" .00200 money factor for consumers who qualify for its top credit tier isn't really all that special. It's equivalent to an interest rate of around 4.8%. Hi emmagee. Acura is running a special lease on the 2010 RDX in November, but its money factor on this truck isn't anything to write home about. Its Nov. buy rate lease money factor for this truck of .00200 is equivalent to an interest rate of around 4.8%. That's not bad, but it isn't going to rock anyone's world either. What's up with these Honda/Acura designers?? The "beaks" on the front of Acuras are absolutely hideous! It ruins the looks of the entire vehicle! And has anyone seen the upcoming Honda Accord Crosstour?? As American vehicles are improving both in looks and quality, watch out Honda! It saddens me to say that as I have been a long-time Honda and Acura owner.

From the CX-7's transaxle to the rear the driveline is an EXACT duplicate of the Ford Escape, Edge, etc. That is incorrect. First, the Escape is 4WD, not AWD. I wish they'd moderate the suspension some. My wife love the 09 RDX in terms of amenities, looks and interior but absolutely hated the jittery, firm suspension. She passed but would reconsider if Acura softens it some.
Sooner or later, maybe by 2010 MY, they will convert the engine to DFI w/CR of ~12:1, and either completely drop the turbo or simply detune/derate it, and thereby improve FE by up to 30% Maybe even an Atkinson/Miller/West cycle engine with ~50% FE improvement. One can hope/dream....
I think you can get a good deal for the 2010. I've seen a pic of the 2010 and it looks ok. If you can wait for the 2010 then it might be great. It's going to have some new improvements like USB/iPod integration and stuff like that.
Do you believe is worth to wait for the 2010 model or should I just go ahead and lease the 2009 version? I have the feeling that I will not get the good deal for the 2010 model as the one available now for the 2009.

RDX is light enough that its suspension can be tuned for "sporty" driving. MDX is such an "old folks" "Queen Mary" that it cannot. What is considered "invoice" on the RDX Tech? My local dealer said they would sell for invoice less the $2.5K incentive - which for them came to @$32.5K (includes destination) but not TTL.
