You might take note that the early Lexus RXes, '99-'00, had much the same issue, premature transaxle failures. In the case of the '01+ RX, Lexus changed out the VC fluid formulation to make it less functional and began using trac, frictional braking at the front, to apportion engine torque to the rear. Up for first oil change on my 2010 RDX. Price of the synthetic change is around $75-$80 at the Acura dealerships I've called. What price should I expect to pay (is this range right) and any advice on alternatives to the dealership for an Acura needing synthetic oil?

Hello jaeroe21. This doesn't look like a very attractive deal to me. The dealer invoice price of a base 2010 Acura RDX is currently $31,113. If one subtracts the available $1,000 dealer cash from that it drops to around $30,113. That's nearly $2,500 over invoice after the acquisition fee is backed out. Hoping for suspension changes in 2010
I wish they'd moderate the suspension some. My wife love the 09 RDX in terms of amenities, looks and interior but absolutely hated the jittery, firm suspension. She passed but would reconsider if Acura softens it some.

Sooner or later, maybe by 2010 MY, they will convert the engine to DFI w/CR of ~12:1, and either completely drop the turbo or simply detune/derate it, and thereby improve FE by up to 30% Maybe even an Atkinson/Miller/West cycle engine with ~50% FE improvement. One can hope/dream....

RDX is light enough that its suspension can be tuned for "sporty" driving. MDX is such an "old folks" "Queen Mary" that it cannot. At those prices, unless I saw real need for the SH-AWD system vs the new RX F/awd system (I don't) I'd be buying a new 2010 RX350 rather than a "cushy", too softly sprung, MDX.

2010 RDX will get a facelift. It will get that Power Plenum grille that Acura really likes. The Power plenum grille is the same grille as the 09 TL, RL, and TSX. Well the all cash and financed deal were the same untill monday, now it seems like the financed rebate has been reduced while the all cash rebate has been increased, so under the current incentive plan the all cash deal does provide more bargaining power.
