I purchased my RDX Tech pkg @ the end of 2006. While I love the car I am not happy with the service. My concern for everyone is if you have the Tech pkg then you may want to consider an extended warranty something I would ... Read More

Hi I am seriously considering an acura rdx w/ tech with 64k miles. At $20k do you think its a good deal? I am wondering with the new '10s that the price may drop soon for the older models.
So... at 31,990, the dealer is keeping $35 of the actual dealer hold back. Keeping $558 in advertising money. They then have to pay the sales person, technicians for the inspection (PDI), the detailer to detail your RDX. This price seems very reasonable. When you start adding accessories that cost money, plus the labor costs, you can see why the dealership isn't motivated to do it. It is just simple business ... Read More
From the CX-7's transaxle to the rear the driveline is an EXACT duplicate of the Ford Escape, Edge, etc. That is incorrect. First, the Escape is 4WD, not AWD. Second, the Edge uses Ford's in-house built AWD system, similar to a Haldex FWD based AWD system. Mazda uses their own Active Torque-Split AWD, which is also a FWD based AWD system. So, they are similar in design, but they are not ... Read More

Hi jmprokup I am getting a deal of $28.5 for used 2007 RDX with tech package with 18k miles on it, so I guess a non tech one with around 10k miles on it should not cost more then 26K. So far what I have seen, 2007 RDX does not have that good a resale value as compared to other Acura models. I may be wrong though.
People have been paying under $30K for a 2007 base RDX (with the factory-to-dealer incentive on 2007 models). $31200 for a 2008 model is a good deal, but not unbelievable. If you print out the e-mail and take it to the dealer, they will likely honor it. You can probably get any other local dealer to match it as well.
Has Acura improved the road noise on the 2008 RDX compared to 2007? Thanks in advance-Afif
Hi bugginout. The $1,000 dealer cash incentive that you mentioned is currently only available on 2007 RDX models. Acura is no longer providing lease support on the '07 model. I keep reading all of these points here about AWD bias, performance, luxury, etc. and though each of these items are pretty subjective, I think there are a few things I would tend to lean towards. First, having relatives that own X3s, they are beautiful vehicles inside and out. The biggest knocks to them that I can find are that they ride pretty stiff and the servicing from the dealerships are ... Read More
Hi Monk. I'm glad that you find this site so informative. Unfortunately, it is going to be fairly expensive for you to get out of your Jaguar lease so early. You would be much better off waiting until you are closer to the scheduled end of your current lease to get a new vehicle. If you can't wait, you will have to get the dealer that you get your RDX from ... Read More
My two cents on the RDX/CX-7 comparison: I spent a lot of time trying to decide between these two cars. I liked the quality of the Acura, but I liked the styling of the CX-7 much better. At the last minute (literally at the dealer lot) the decision came down to what I thought was the best value. The CX-7 most valuable features are "invisible" - high performance, stability control, abs, ... Read More
Here's the info that you're looking for, jakpenn. Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 36 month lease of a base 2007 Acura RDX with 12,000 miles per year are .00213 and 58%, respectively. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum

2007 X3 vs. RDX - I've looked at (but not driven) both vehicles. I actually prefer the exterior looks and interior ergonomics of the Acura, but think the "je ne sais quoi" of the X3 seems more luxurious/sophisticated in that European way (what's up with the tacky pinstripes on the RDX!). Based on what I've read, my main concern with the RDX is the inconsistent gas mileage (I can live with ... Read More
If you think the idea of a vehicle going past 130K miles without needing incessant repairs is 'unreasonable' then you have owned FAR too many European cars. Take a trip to the clue store and talk to some Japanese car owners who know that 200K miles without losing your shirt on car repairs is rather routine these days. The tolerance level for Euro car weenies for this crap is astonishing. Evidenced ... Read More
My wife and I went to the Anaheim Auto Show (across from Disneyland) on Friday, mostly to look at midsize crossover SUVs. She has had Honda's and currently has an Acura TL. The Hondas have been pretty much trouble free, and when there was a suspected problem with the 5 speed transmission, they offered a free inspection and repair if needed and an extended warranty. This is a far better experience ... Read More
Here's the information that you're looking for, deserth8r. Honda Finance's current buy rate lease money factor and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2007 Acura RDX without the Technology Package leased with 12,000 miles per year are .00388 and 67%, respectively. This truck's 36 month lease program is more attractive at .00283 and 62%. Car_man Host Prices Paid Forum
I see little or no chassis influence on the torque split. The system has been designed to nominally send the most torque to the front. The car is a FWD biased AWD set up and to change it at this point would cost something. Were it a low cost matter, it would be done if for only marketing reasons. As others have stated, the system is NOT designed to keep a ... Read More
You're absolutely correct! My point (even if I did not make a good case before) is the chassis. Acura RDX is built on a "Small Truck Platform" aka. front drive, capable of being AWD. BMW inherently designs platforms to be RWD with AWD capabilities. That in itself translates to different driving dynamics....corner approach, hitting the apex, and corner exit will "feel" different regardless of front-rear bias. Im just beyond ecstatic that ... Good post - from a drivers perspective. From a car enthusiast however, the comparison lacks the fundamental difference. The X3 is built on a rear-wheel platform and the xDrive only distributed power to the front wheels when rear wheel slip is detected. Once the X3 is moving, the power is applied to the rear. The RDX on the other hand, is the exact apposite. It sends power to the rear when ... Read More
Hi all, I t has been a while since my last visit and I am glad to see some of the old timers have not deserted this or other posts (i kept checking now and then, just no posts). Well, now time has come to go out there and buy some of these new exciting vehicles. But I fear I am getting mixed feeling about model roll-out as to the implementation of ... Read More
Let me preface this by saying that I have a case of advanced BMW nuttiness. I believe that all German cars have a unique feel to them that has not been duplicated by any other manufacturer, but BMWs best exemplify this feel. I'll also add that I can't get that excited about the Acura TSX or TL. Maybe I drove them on the wrong roads, or didn't give them enough of ... Read More
Hi bbydad. I can give you an idea of what this model's residual values are currently like. It is difficult to say how Honda Finance comes up with their residual values. They probably base them upon the residuals that are estimated by a company called ALG (Automotive Lease Guide). ALG is an independent company that estimates residual values for every vehicle sold in the U.S. How ALG arrives at the residuals ... Read More
Do we have a credible timeline as to the deployment of CMS along the Acura lineup (RDX would actually be the model for which I could use that info). Also I am going to replace soon my 2003 Accord EXL as well. I have been offered a 50K figure (all inclusive with high Chicago city taxes bumping that figure). That would be a top of the line 2007 model (tech package ... Read More
Acura is actually going to make about 25 to 30k of the RDX's for 2007, the ratio of the Tech to the non Tech is 40% Tech and 60% non tech, so if you are looking for a Tech as I was its MSRP. But I love mine.
2007 Acura RDX Road Test -- Going After BMW, Again (Karl on Cars) That is scary! I'd like to try one, but I sure do have to get used to the looks.
Craig, Regarding the plasticky interior that I mentioned. That was specifically on the Taupe Interior. I normally don't like Black Interiors, but IMHO it looked better in the RDX. I also completely agree about the Running Boards. The Tech Model I drove was White Exterior\Taupe Interior and had Running Boards. The running boards really ruined the look. In the showroom they had a Black on Black model, with the 19" wheels ... Read More
2007 Acura RDX Road Test -- Going After BMW, Again (Karl on Cars) Keep reading for the rest of the quote.
Much as I complain about autos (the Audi and BMW 5 speed autos in particular), the newest gen of German automatics from Audi and BMW are very easy to like and almost able to be loved. The 5 speed Acura transmission isn't bad -- it needs another gear to be able to marry its somewhat strange (for a turbo) torque curve to its final drive ratio. I would think a 2007 ... Read More
