I will take a single rotary control dial like the one on the MDX over a touchscreen any day. I am an engineer and somewhat of an expert on motions. Touching any "button" on a touchscreen is a high control motion - meaning it requires the use of the eyes for the position of your finger to the screen...you cannot keep your eyes on the road and do this. With a dial you can just glance at the screen - and for frequent functions this isn't required after you have learned the motions. Also, while I agree the rest of the MDX control tower is busy and has several redundant functions that are already on the screen, if the screen ever has an issue everything still works. Ever talked to anyone that had Ford MyTouch? You can't control anything - including heat/air, heated seats, radio, etc. if there is a software problem - and there have been many.Report it
