  I have a 2010 MDX and recently noticed the unstable RPM when driving around 80km. Many people complain about the transmission. My car has only 16000km on it. very disappointed with Acura. I paid almost $60000 for my car and didn't expect to get a car like this. Took it back to the Canadian dealer and they had no idea what the problem was. I would never buy another Acura.

  I want to know if owners of 2010 MDX or later have had transmission problems, even if covered by warrenty. If so, please give details. I may have a route to getting appropriate attention. But can't guarentee. Acura's behavior in this (even with older vehicles) is both inexplicable and damaging to a heretofore excellent reputation. Let's move on this.

  Unfortunately we are seeing many MDX vehicles built in the early 2000s with this major issue. But now Acura has the same problem with vehciles after the re-do in 2010. What is of great concern is that the replacement (which I have after 30,000 miles) has not been redesigned. That, after all the replacements, is unpardonable.

  Just logging that we have the same issue with our 2010 MDX Tech. Mainly small trips and if the radio has been on during cleaning. The warning disappears by itself after some time on a longer trip that charges the battery. Very annoying.

  I bought new MDX last year. Now, it is on 8000 mile. I had tire rotated in 6000 mile. After that, car pulled right. Acura dealer said that there was no alignment problem. But, "I" found that abnomal tire wear in front tire which was on rear before tire rotation. Is this tire problem under warranty. Dealer did not want to replace tire with new ones.

  I also have a 2010 MDX and unwisely ordered the NAV update. After following all directions on the install, the NAV doesn't work. In addition, many of the menu screens or buttons (e.g. cancel) now freeze or don't work. The software from Navteq destroyed the NAV system. Dealer now replacing the entire NAV system over a simple update. I would recommend against it at this point.

  You probably have an intermittent failure within the regulator (internal to the alternator). The indicator/indication is that the alternator cannot supply enough current flow for energizing its own rotor. Obviously not the case.

  I was told by a Honda dealer that you can easily take your MDX to AAA and they can install a trailer hitch for a much better price and that a lot of people do this. I would recommend checking them out. I personally am looking for a base MDX 2010 preferably to keep costs low. Looking for $35k OTD but SOL for now. :(

  Yes, it was a 2011 base. Bail Blue/ Taupe interior in NJ. The free oil changes are included with every new car. When I was haggling, I told them it wasn't a factor and just concentrated on price. They said they'd give me the 39000 if I didn't take the free "life time" oil changes but in the end they were included anyway. I'm glad I did well on it.
