2010 MDX
Written by: valueguy on Dec 12, 2009 1:58:01 PM
Acura website now has the 2010 MDX. You can build and price the 2010 model. If I purchase a 2010 MDX with Tech at Invoice compared to a 2009 MDX with Tech at Invoice minus $2,000 rebate I think the 2010 model is a better deal. Go ahead and compare. Thus, the incentive on the 2009 models (if there are any left) is likely to increase in January. I prefer the ... Read More

I have been researching 2009 MDX TECH for 3 months. If I have a second option to buy another model like you have Odyssey touring, I would wait until at the end of December 2009(I do not care about a color option). Now all dealers put more price for 2009 MDXs in December 2009 than in November 2009. They said the reason is there is low stock for 2009 MDXs. Let's ... Read More

It was Park Avenue Acura in Maywood, NJ. I bought the car less than a month ago. It was a 2009 with tech, entertainment and sport packages. Had 9,250 miles for it. Like I said, it was not that different in price from a brand new model, but the dealer convinced me that the extra warranty was worth it. Also, there seems to be a shortage of cars with running board ... Read More

I just looked at their website (my nearest acura dealer). They are advertising a 2009 used tech model with 8,750 miles for $40,900. The asking price for the one that I saw on their lot (2008 tech/DVD with 24,500) is now only $37,900. I was there on Saturday, so they have come down $2K in 3 days. I don't know if this info helps you in any way, but I thought ... Read More

What may be true at your dealership is not true of other dealerships or of other car manufacturers. You are also spreading half truths and mixing in false statements with your comments. All auto dealers make money through commission or other incentives from banks and financial institutions. This is also true of insurance brokers, investment brokers, mortgage brokers, and loan officers. It is utterly false to say a dealer does not ... Read More

MDX -2009 and 2010

The MDX 2010 is in the showroom in Canada and dealers there are taking orders now. I asked a few dealers in VA and was told they will arrive in a week or so. Given the 2010 model is arriving, is it easier to get a good deal on 2009? If not, is it better off to wait for 2010 model? Anybody knows what kind of incentive we can expect for ... Read More

Tastycaskes, I need to make a decision today. Here is some more feedback for you: - Regarding Price: My dealer won't move on the price of the 2009. The dealer is selling the car to me at $39,735 <-- this includes the $2,000 rebate and $810 destination fee, not taxes or DMV fees. Should I pull the trigger on this or wait for the 2010 MDX? I don't know if the dealers are playing games, I just think we are at the point now where most dealerships don't have a tremendous amount of inventory. So they are willing to give up most of the trunk money but can afford to wait before cutting really deep. To get $34k you need a dealer that is leveraging a volume incentive or willing to dip into the holdback to move ... Read More

You may be correct, although I was able to buy a base for 34.1k this week in DC as well. You are correct Pohanka is no longer selling for the price you mentioned, however. IMO, the dealers are playing games and holding off on making deals before the weekend so they can implement incentives and sales to drive traffic to dealerships for their own "black friday"/christmas shopping season kickoff weekend deals. ... No, I don't think you can get $34-$34.5 for the base anymore. Even Pohanka is VA is over that now. Probably closer to $35K (incl dest and and dealer "fees") would be a great deal at this point.

"A good price right now (IMO) for a MDX including destination is 34 - 34.5k." I tend to agree but this likely depends on region and the available inventory, I think $34k for a Base MDX would be a spectacular deal. In my case, e-mail quotes from five dealers in Eastern PA and Western NJ yielded an average quote of $37k, with a little prodding you can get to $35k pretty ... Read More

That will depend on what your tax/tags/fees are. A good price right now (IMO) for a MDX including destination is 34 - 34.5k. Calculate tax from that and add whatever the fees are for tags/title.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the 2010s are starting production this week or next week for the MDX for delivery to dealerships at the end of December. If your area dealers don't have stock, they probably are not getting any more. If (big if) your local dealers really are low on supply, you may need to broaden your search further out. I would hold firm ground...you should be able to do better than 36.2k. The last day of the month is Monday, and this is a long holiday weekend where people are shopping for everything except for cars. I would imagine all dealers will have special incentives for this weekend, and that you'll be getting calls back on Friday - Saturday to make a deal.
