Going through a similar engine / oil consumption / engine block issue on my 2008 Acura MDX (about 63k miles). Since Sept. 2010 started having the "check oil level" light pop far in advance of any oil change. Oil was actually low (dipstick dry on a few occasions) so def not a sensor issue. Dealership kept topping off the oil level, started their "consumption test", but just last week I was ... Read More

I have a 2008 MDX Tech with 32,000 miles and occasionally encountered the dreaded shudder at 35mph around town as early as a year ago or so. Naturally, they needed me to demonstrate the shudder with a tech ... Read More
I came across Service Bulletin : SB-06-050 on the NTSB board when I searched for 2004 MDX problems and this service bulletin talks about "Warranty Extensions" for 2002-2006 models as part of a class action law suite settlement. This one was filled on May 09, 2008. But I am not sure if Acura folks are honoring this settlement, since it does NOT specifically talk about "transmission" problems in the "summary" section ... How did you end up with your decision? I'm coming up on my three year lease end with the '09 Pilot in late July and am back researching the 3-row crossover SUV options again. Thanks. I got the trailer package factory installed, and my Acura dealer indicated as of 2008 all MDX's have the transmission cooler. So it is really surprising it heated up so easily. Is it possible to remove the 3rd row? Will I get additional trunk room for the golf clubs and will it help mileage? Thanks

I own a 2008 MDX Sport/Ent. A few days ago I test drove the '10 MDX Tech and Advance. Here are my 2 cents: 1. Steering not an improvement. Too light compared to my 08 2. I understand. Acura MDX required 91 octane.. My 2010 Honda Pilot required 87 octane.. But I will be using 91 octane for the better engine.. what type of brand fuel do you recommend???
The Acura and Pilot don't have the same engine. The Pilot has the 3.5L and the MDX has 3.7L. Not to mention, I would guess the Acura has higher compression, which is the primary reason for the need for increased octane gas.
I recently got 21.4 mpg on my 2010 pilot 4wd using 87 regular unleaded. I was heavy on gas pedal too.. I got around 20 mpg when i used 91. I don't know why acura recommend 91 octane.. Basically pilot and mdx have very similar engine.

Looking to get into a new lease to replace my wife's BMW 3-series lease that is up in two weeks. Once she finally decided on the Acura MDX, I got underway in earnest. These boards, when people post clear information, are very ... Read More
can someone please post the december 2008 lease rates for acura mdx. thanks
Try DCH Acura (Montclair, NJ). They seem to be making great deals. I just leased an 2009 Base MDX for $517 /month (3 yr lease w/ 15K mi) with a sale price of $34,569. Ask for Donna Telesco.
Hi, --- I was quoted $36K for 2008 w/Tech (Loaners) approx. 10-15K miles at East Brunswick. --- I also found another dealer who quoted me $37.5K for demos with 5-6K miles from Ocean Acura. --- Bridgewater, Springfield don't have any. I'm willing to drive 100 miles (maybe more) to get a better deal. What do you think of the prices offered? Any other locations that have them? I presume, demos are ... Read More
any idea what differential to expect on a 2008 vs. 2009? I know Acura's dealer incentive difference is $2000 but would expect a bigger differential than that at this time of the year. thanks for feedback.
It might be too late for 2008. Southern California seems to have more stock.. However it seems you need to do more work in trying to find 08's if you are really interested... for example in three min I found that Lehigh Valley Acura in Allentown PA has one 2008 Tech ent listed on the website....Do they have it...not sure but worth the call. Depending on where you are in NY ... Read More
I am looking to buy an Acura MDX and came across a 2008 Sport Entertainment package. It is used and has 18000 miles on it. They are asking $36,999 for it. Seems like a pretty good deal. I can get an 09 new Tech-Entertaiment for $42,000 but not sure what to do. Does anyone know how much the Sport package is compared to just the Tech Package? Any help would be ... Read More
Well, I've been looking all over for a 2008 MDX w/ Tech package and did check Weir Acura (which an earlier poster had said was offering for 35.8). They did have it and it was a great deal, but I really didn't like the blue steel color and didn't want to regret it and think about for the next 5-10 years. So I've continued looking, but it seems like most dealers ... Read More
Brien99, There are a few Acura websites that do show the color combinations of their inventory. A larger percentage show the exterior color only, some show neither. If I were you I would decide the max distance you are willing to drive for a car. Contact each of those via their internet sales contact, every website has some type of contact us link. Ask them if the have a '08 white/parchment? ... Read More
Actually... Is there any way for me to search a database of dealer inventory to figure this out? Other manufacturers let you do this from their website (eg Mazda), but I can't seem to find something similar for Acura. Do I have to resort to calling 50 dealers individually to ask them? Thanks, Brien
the website for cerritos acura in LA says they have nine 2008 MDX's Good luck
Hi BOBACURA. Auto sales are atrocious right now. If you are in an area that has any sort of competition, I suspect that you will be able to purchase a 2008 MDX for dealer invoice minus the $4,000 dealer cash that is currently available on it. The dealer invoice price for a 2008 Acura MDX with both the Tech and Entertainment packages is $42,460. Subtract $4,000 from that and you have ... Read More
Hi guys, could you please share the experience how to get this vibrating issue fixed? I just bought the 2008 MDX last weekend and feel sligtly vibrating at the 1st drive back to home at 65mph. I had thought the road condition may attribute to this at the first thought but later i realized that my 8-year old acura integra is solid stable at the same road. then I test it ... Read More
