A Classic
Vehicle
1995 Acura Legend 4 Dr L Sedan
Review
The Legend is a CLASSIC luxury automobile. There really is no other comparible vehicle of the same size, class, design, and quality. The Legend's design has aged well and still turns heads in traffic, especially in brilliant white. Last night, I was driving it without the radio on listening to how it still purrs like a kitten with 97,000 miles and looks brand new except. My 1990 Legend required several expensive little repairs by the time it had 95,000 miles, but this 1995 Legend needs nothing aside from its scheduled maintenance. This car is built to last!
Favorite Features
Excellent leather seats; fabulous Bose stereo system (with CD changer); beautiful cockpit design; the front design is smoother than a BMW 7-Series
Suggested Improvements
Could use more audible growl on acceleration (it's so quiet!); I can't think of anything else...
Loved It

Review
Overall, I loved this car, but there were a few problems. I bought the car with 45000 miles. The transmission started to go at 92000. I sold it at 102000 and got top $ thanks to Edmunds even though the tranny was bad. One more complaint-- while backing out of the driveway after snowplows had created a small to medium snowbank, the front bumper snapped off completely. The directional lights (located in the bumper) conveniently disconnected with minimal damage The body shop guy told me it was designed to happen that way during head-on collisions. He ordered a new piece to reconnect the bumper & $200 later I was back on the road with the same bumper.

1st car I ever bought. At 22 yrs old, I was stylin. Every day I'd say, I can't believe I drive this car. I got compliments from everyone on how cool my baby was. The controls were so intuitive. Style, acceleration, handling and Bose stereo was the best stock system I've ever heard.
Suggested Improvements
The powertrain warranty wouldn't cover the tranny at 92000 miles (expires at 90K). I appealed to the warranty division who hears special cases, but they weren't sympathetic at all. A factory rebuild one was $3K-$5K, so I sold it. If not for that I'd still be driving it today.

1995 Acura Legend 4 Dr GS Sedan
Review
This vehicle was well-maintained by the previous owner, and had low mileage. It is one of the few six-speeds made in 95. Acceleration and handling are outstanding. For highway driving the fuel economy (28 mpg) is terrific. The interior leather shows wear. Were it not for the absolutely horrible BOSE stereo in the car, a recall candidate if there ever was one, this car would be a 10. It is a wonderful car to drive. My only regret is that I live so close to where I work.
Favorite Features
The engine and the manual six-speed transmission is a hard combination to beat. The Type II engine puts out 230 hp. 80 mph comes at about 2200 rpm in sixth. You are not even in the power band. The audio controls on the steering wheel are nice except for the audio system that they control.
Suggested Improvements
Take the BOSE stereo, please. Where is my hammer. It is a total and utter piece of garbage, easily the worst feature of the car. The 95 version appears suffer from the same performance problems as in the earlier models that were subject to recall.

Traveling sales engineer's car, covering the SE USA's varied terrain. It handles the straights, curves, mountain roads and in betweens with no labor. Those 200 horses and independent suspension let me run with cars 2 - 3 times the price. The interior has all the amenities of a luxury car of this vintage - still loving my Acura after three years running...

200 HP 3.2 Liter 24-valve SOHC V6, Bose CD sound system, great A/C, sun roof, plenty of room for four Americans and their gear.

Hard to improve a classic.
