Did you ever find the solution to the door locking situation? My 1991 Acura Legend is doing the exact same thing....frustrating.
I REMOVED THE INSTRUMENT CLUSTER AFTER I REPLACED IT SINCE THEN MY GAS GAUGE DON'T MOVE TO FULL OR EMPTY. DOESN'T INDICATE HOW MUCH FUEL I HAVE. HOW DOES ONE TROUBLESHOOT OR DIAGNOSE THIS PROBLEM? THANKS CARSPACE
Just had that problem myself; Replaced battery and alarm behaved better. Check battery level first
1991 Acura Legend 4 DR--- How can you tell if it's your ignition switch or your main relay? They have similarities in troubleshooting the problem of why the car won't stay on after you try to start it and it kicks over?
Owned the car since is was new...always kept maintenance up. Lately, alarm goes off periodically for no apparent reason. Doesn't do it enough to pinpoint actually what triggers it...pretty sure it's not external factors. Any ideas? I want to disarm it until I can get the entire system checked out...can anyone tell me (how to disarm) and whether disarming it is fairly simple...i.e. disconnecting a wire or two or something I'm ... Hello. I just recently purchased a 1991 Acura Legend and it did not have an owners manuel. I know I could spend some time and put in some effort to find out some things I am unsure of, but I dont have the time to do so. I was just wondering if anyone that does have a manuel would be interested in telling me some things that I would like to ... Read More
Hey everyone...I was wondering if anyone could help me. I have the opportunity of buying a 1991 Legend coupe. I love this car already. I am in college and need a reliable but inexpensive car. The only thing is that the car has 250,000 miles on it. THe original owner's son is saleing it. What do you guys think? Is $4000 an okay price? The only thing he has mentioned so ... Read More
I bought my daughter a 1991 Legend Sedan as a college car 3 years ago. 105,000 miles on it then and 150,000 now. We have had to have a head gasket job done and radiator replaced. Speed sensor has gone out on the transmission twice. Acura dealer service is good and expensive. This is a substantial and powerful car, and seems to have served us well. The leather interior is starting ... Read More
my daughter will turn sweet sixteen next week and has found a 1991 LS Coupe with 131,000 miles being offered for $4,000. I haven't done a lot of research yet (she just hit me with this when I got home)and would like to hear from anybody who wants to offer their two cents. I've never looked at Acuras before (to buy). The car is supposedly in mint condition (aren't they all)...we're ... Read More
I have contacted nearly everybody associated with Acura and nobody can seem to supply me with factual information on the differences between the 1991-95 Legend Sedans. I want to make sure I am getting the best car for the money and considering I have to drive nearly 150 miles to check them out, I want to know exactly I'm driving to look at. Where can I get this information?
I am the original owner of a 1991 Cobalt Blue Legend Sedan with nearly 90,000 miles. I have followed the Acura maintenance schedule religiously. Last week I took a 400 mile roundtrip and noticed intermitent steering wheel vibrations at various highway speeds. It would come and go between 50 and 70 MPH and it was not consistent at what speeds the steering wheel would vibrate and which speeds would be smooth. ... Read More
A 1993 Legend with 46,000 miles is practically a brand new car. Depending of course on the price, it would be a great deal and a very reliable car overall. I own a 1991 Legend LS with 108,000 miles. The easiest way to find out about common problems on the car is to visit the alldata.com web site and look for the section dealing with recalls and technical service bulletins (TSBs). ... Read More
I am the proud owner of a 1991 Acura Legend Coupe. Unfortanely, the ABS light stays on and shines in my face. Repair costs exceed $400.00 dollars. Does anyone know how to disconnect the system to eliminate the ABS light? I can definitely live without ABS brakes. Thanks in advance.
This message is for apowell1 or anyone else who can provide me advice on a 1991 Legend LS sedan... I just bought one with 101K miles. It's pretty nice!! I bought it from a dealer who I think was straight with me about the car. After checking it out thoroughly, here's the problems I noted, and it sounds like some of you have similar issues with yours. Any advice would be ... Read More
As mentioned before, I have two Legends, a 1991 with 120K and a 1995 with 50K. I have had the 1991 for nearly eight years, and just bought the 1995. They are really excellent cars, that is why I searched for a 1995 instead of buying new. They just don't make anything that compares in my mind except possibly a $40000BMW but that is too much to pay for a car ... Read More
I just bought a 1991 Acura Legend with 109,000 miles. Not my first choice, but I know the owner and knew I could trust him when he told me the car's history. It runs fairly well, and my mechanic said I could expect to keep it until it has 150,000 or more miles; however, it's not free of certain minor problems (one engine light malfunctions; control button for one window is ... I have two Acura Legends, a 1991 and a 1995. About two months ago, I had the problem described. The problem started with the speedometer suddenly going to zero and then back to normal. The next phase involved the D-4 light blinking. As with yours, the problem disappeared for quite some time and would then return. The problem was the speed sensor in the transmission. The cost to repair at the ... Read More
