My new Acura...
Written by: sapper3273 on Jul 7, 2006 1:55:05 AM
I just purchased an 1990 Acura Legend LS sedan for 3k. The vehicle is in excellent condition and runs strong. I am wondering after reading things here if someone can give me an idea what I should be looking at in order to keep up with preventative maintenance so that I do not have any unnecessary problems "down the road" so to speak. Also I dont have a manual for the ... Read More

stuck in 3rd gear
Written by: baum on Jul 27, 2005 7:14:38 PM
Hi! I am new to this site and I am hoping I can get some advice. My 1990 Acura Legend is having some shifting problems. It has an automatic transmission. This happens totally randomly, usually when it is hot outside.... my car seems to be stuck in 3rd gear. When I accelerate from a stop, it lags, like I am starting in 2nd or 3rd gear. And when I am driving ... Read More

Bought a 90 Acura Legend
Written by: lavndr036 on Jul 16, 2005 9:30:33 PM
I just bought a 1990 Acura Legend. I was wondering if anyone has done a full or partial synthetic oil change and if so where the results good? The car has high miles, 179,000 and want to put the best oil product in when I get it changed. Thanks

Re: 1995 Acura Legend GS Vs. 1999 Acura 3.2 TL [happyharry]

Just as a price data point, we paid $3,000 in a private sale for a 1990 Acura Legend L Coupe / auto with 112K. Extremely well cared for with service records. I can't imagine paying $15K for a 95, even with only 55K mi. Way, way too high. between 8 and 10 depending on maintenance history.

Problems are associated with 90 Acura legened L?
Written by: fxb3 on Jan 12, 2003 6:37:28 PM
I found a 1990 Acura Legend L with 160000, they [christian thrift organization] offered to take $2,000 for it since it has been sitting for three monthes. The car seems solid bushing, cv's, engine. The starter was acting up so I have yet to start it and check engine, tranny and alignment. There seems to be some oil residue on headers between the engine and radiator though maybe valve cover. Anyone have ... Read More

1990 Acura Legend Coupe
Written by: jeffmust2 on Apr 9, 2002 10:08:47 PM
Hoolick - Boy, I wish I had never given up my '90 Legend! Was offered a company car at the time and made the rational, economic choice then - just dumb in hindsight. Anyway, '90s go for $3-6k depending on the mileage and condition. One with only 30k miles would probably command more but it's still 12 years old and a lot of folks are turned off by vehicles that old. ... Read More

1987 LEGEND GAS SMELL
Written by: therhino on Feb 10, 2001 10:35:09 PM
Hi all. I have two Acura Legends; a 1987 and a 1990. I love them both. The '87 has 230,000 miles and only major problem was not replacing the timing belt in-time and had to have top-half of engine rebuilt. That was about 30k miles ago. Problem is a gas smell, mechanics can't seem to figure it out. The Acura dealership after a thorough check suggested $2,400 worth of parts and ... Read More

To #61, about Legend/car of dreams
Written by: tiltil88 on Nov 5, 2000 4:14:40 AM
I just bought a 1991 Acura Legend with 109,000 miles. Not my first choice, but I know the owner and knew I could trust him when he told me the car's history. It runs fairly well, and my mechanic said I could expect to keep it until it has 150,000 or more miles; however, it's not free of certain minor problems (one engine light malfunctions; control button for one window is ... 1990 Legend
Written by: hawks4 on Aug 13, 2000 6:56:10 PM
I too have a 1990 Legend - 4Dr L series with 134,000 miles on it. I've thought seiously of trading it in on a new Acura TL but the service shop that does the routine maintenance on my Legend advises against trading it. With no ax to grind and a very objective analysis of my car, they say that the $4k I would get on a trade-in does not do justice ... Read More

1990 Legend

I too own a 1990 Legend. It is a great car. I just had the suspension repleaced -- Struts etc. -- I had it done at the dealer and am pleased with the results. My experience with Midas et als is that on struts and brake work they are a little too sloppy and too generic for me and my car. Just my opinion as they say. By the way as ... Read More

I have to admit that I like the older Legends too. Especially the 1989 and 1990 model. They looked better than the 1986-1988 models. The 2nd generation car was no looker, but I'm come to like it too, I once almost bought a 1994 as a 2nd car. They make a great used car now from about 15K, especially the LS models. I kind of wish Acura would drop this silly ... Read More
