Summary

What Edmunds.com says

An absolute gem back in 1994. Eight years is a long time to go without a major update, though. The Integra replacement can't come soon enough.

Pros

Type R model for the track, GS-R model for daily driving, hatchback utility, frugal with fuel, excellent reliability and resale value.

Cons

Aged dash design, creaky structure, poor road and wind isolation, funky styling.

What's New for 2001

Carpeted floor mats are newly standard, and an emergency trunk release is added to the inside of the sedan's cargo area. Four new colors round out the changes for 2001, Integra's final year before an all-new model debuts for 2002.

Review

I have had my Integra for over 139000 miles. It is incredibly reliable, spacious and roomy. Can carry 8 foot 2x4 lumbers, and lots of big boxes. As well as be a really cool sports car. Has not been in repair shop for anything too major. Appears to have very strong body design, after being rear ended, by stupid drunk driver, body shop replaced all bumpers and repainted and is like new again.

Favorite Features

Fold down rear seats, hatch back. Tight steering.

Suggested Improvements

Longer wider and taller body for more interior capacity. Bigger engine, bigger disk brakes. New RSX has been downsized, and then discontinued. No more hatchbacks from Acura anymore.

Review

I bought this car in 2002. It has been nothing but good to me. It is a poor man's Porcshe. It's fast and handles great. High insurance, like many mine was stolen...I loved it so much I spent 16k to rebuild it, even though it was a total loss. I have a Benz 430CLK now but I always drive the Teg.

Favorite Features

Engine, handling, looks, fuel economy

Suggested Improvements

Better interior, it looks cheap.

Review

This vehicle is one of my favorite cars. I drive this vehicle like a race car. It performs when requested, accelerates with hesitation, and screams like a motorcycle! The car is very fun to drive especially when it reaches VTEC! The sound of the cross-over from normal cam lobes to higher lobes provides a exciting moment to enthusiast. Sit back in a nice and comfortable bucket seat, enjoy the gripping power assited by LSD and watch your tach as it reaches 8500 RPM. It is no V-8 but it performs like one!

Favorite Features

Front lip, rims, carbon fiber instrument panels, specialized emblems, shifter, and motor!

Review

If you or your passengers are large, this car is probably not for you. Otherwise, the car is awesome. The car is solid and nothing seems out of place in not only design but also responsiveness and mechanical consistency.

Favorite Features

I can't put my finger on any certain feature. It's a very fun car to drive. Also I am glad Acura finally moved the antenna to the rear window as the antenna motors in previous years tended to fail

Suggested Improvements

Move the horn buttons away from where people like to place their hands to steer and shorten the trans gear ratios a bit

Review

Exceptional handling. This car will "turn on a dime, and give you a nickle in change". High RPM powerband will quickly remind you if you are in the wrong gear. The five-speed manual trans is a must. If pure acceleration is your thing, then go for a Type-R model.

Favorite Features

Exterior styling

Suggested Improvements

Larger diameter wheels. The stock 15" look too small on this car. I have used 16" with low profile tires and it vastly improves the appearance and also the handling, although the ride becomes a bit rougher because of the tires.
