Written by: lhy on Apr 29, 2009 3:48:30 AM

Hello: What are the insurance costs like for an 1999 Acura Integra LS sedan with automatic transmission? Are these costs more than other import sedans like a Maxima, Corolla, or Accord? I know that Integras (and like other Hondas) are the targets of thefts and also used for street racing.

Followup to above: The car has $7000.00 damage. The insurance comapny WILL NOT total it. Thye say it is worth almost $10,500.00, Ins. Co. says it needs $8000.00 to total. Body shop says that is max damage. Ins. Co. says they will give me $7000.00 - $500.00 ded. for $6500.00, body shop says he will give me about $1000.00 for salvage, it will give me a total of about $7500.00 or ... Read More

If they total the car, ask your insurance if you can buy a car back for a lot less, a few hundred bucks. Do some repairs and apply for a salvage title.

I am hoping they do not total it. Other then front bumber, hood, and MAYBE 1 fender, they think there was no frame or engine damage. The radiator was broken though. With only 27,000 miles i would take my chances getting the car back. It is maintained well and unfortunately just spent over $300.00 changing fluids, wires, etc..Have eveey record from when we bought it at 15,000 miles. Just hope the ... Read More

California has a law that you can insist on OEM replacement parts in body work, and you can pick the shop, even if the insurance is paying. Other states have similar laws - you should check the Bureau of Automotive Repair in your state. As far as what they will pay to total your car, it is negotiated, and usually starts at retail and goes down. Evidence of repairs, maintenance, and ... Read More

My son had an accident with his integra LS 2 door. his front end went into a 97 Thunderbird...Luckily no one was hurt...The collision shop thinks there is no frame damage. The car has only 27,000 miles and we are the second owner. Kelly Blue book says retail value with those miles is about $10,100. If they total the car will insursance pay that value??? They already told me if they ... Read More

Amazingly, I just read on the internet the 1999 Acura Integra is the No. 1 car stolen this year. But not only that, the 98 Integra is 3rd, the 96 is in 6 place, the 95 is in 7th place, the 97 is in 9th place, the 2001 is in 11th place, the 94 is in 14th place and the 2000 Acura Integra is in 16th place. I'm thinking of buying a 2000 GS sedan with 45000 miles for $9000. Car is in good shape. Is this a good deal? Also I have never owned an Acura before. Does it need premium gas or is regular unleaded gas okay? Are parts and repairs a lot more expensive than they would be for a Honda Accord or Toyota Camry? I'm also thinking about buying a 1999 Infiniti I 30 ... Read More

Just went through the process when I bought a 1999 Integra LS. The battery was dead so when we jumped it, the radio was flashing a message to input the code. Called an Acura service rep and he gave 3 places to get the code. 1. A card furnished with the owners manual. 2. on a sticker inside the glove box, and 3. Remove the radio and the code may be ... • 1995 Integra RS, 2D hatchback -- love!

Hi Acura/Honda fan club (*smile*), It's my first time posting to the forum, but found it very helpful in my quest to find a new car. I had a 1999 Accord EX coming off of lease and refused to pay (overpay!) what they wanted for the car. I considered an RSX (is it me, or is the rear visibility terrible???) and the Celica (cute but I love Hondas). One afternoon, I ... Read More

WASHINGTON (CNN) - The Acura Integra tops a new study listing the most stolen passenger vehicles for the model years 1999-2001, according to the Highway Loss Data Institute. The list correlates numbers of each 1999-2001 model passenger vehicle thought to be on the road with the frequency that it is stolen to determine which cars thieves want most often. Other studies don't use that formula -- usually concluding that the most ... Read More
