Edmunds.com Sheds Light on the Future of Workplace Culture, Auto Technology 2014 SXSW

SANTA MONICA, Calif. — March 6, 2014 — Edmunds.com, the premier destination for car shopping, will offer expert insight into the future of the office workplace and automotive technology during two separate events this weekend at SXSW in Austin, Tex.

The first event is a presentation titled, "Work & Flexibility: Why Women Must Lead the Way." Edmunds.com, which implemented its innovative Results Only Work Environment (ROWE) in 2011, will be used as an example of a culture that supports and creates life-balance-oriented work policies. Edmunds.com VP of Mobile and Emerging Technologies Stephen Gandee will speak and take questions on how ROWE has been successfully adopted by the company. The event, sponsored by life-balance advocates Maybrooks.com and NextKids, takes place on Friday, March 7 at 3:30pm at the Courtyard Marriott on E. 4th Street in Austin.

"Maybrooks and NextKids are thrilled to showcase Edmunds.com as a prime example of a company that listened and took smart, measurable steps to implement a system that allows its employees to do their best work and also still live their lives," says Stacey Delo, founder & CEO, Maybrooks.com.

The second event will be a panel sponsored by Waggener Edstrom called, "Jets & Cars — How Both Industries Are Navigating Automation for Pilots and Drivers." The panel will address the responsibilities facing drivers and pilots as the reality of automated cars and planes draws closer. Edmunds.com Senior Editor John O'Dell, who has studied the challenges posed by automated cars very closely, will be featured on the panel along with other automotive and aviation experts. The event will be held Saturday, March 8 at 5pm at The Connected Car Pavillion located at 101 Red River Street, Austin, Texas 78701, across the street from the Austin Convention Center.

In addition to these two events, Edmunds.com will have a presence all weekend long at Mashery's Circus Mashimus tent, highlighted by a prom-themed happy hour on Saturday, March 8 from 4pm to 6pm. Edmunds.com will also sponsor two raffles:

  • Edmunds.com Instagram Raffle — Instagram users at SXSW who post pictures of Edmunds.com's iconic Carhead mascot with a #SXSWcarhead hashtag are eligible.
