Edmunds employee since 2008
What is the coolest thing about working at Edmunds?
The coolest thing about working at Edmunds is, of course, getting to talk about cars all day!
Tell us about your favorite Edmunds memory?
My favorite memory is the moment we launched the Edmunds Live Advice Line. We had a conference room full of volunteers from around the company ready to take customer calls. We could only guess who might call, if anyone, and what they might ask. But we were ready for anything. And, sure enough, after a few moments of awkward silence, the calls began coming in. It was awesome to witness not only the amazement of our callers that we were offering this level of service but also the delight that our employee volunteers took in personally lending people a helping hand.
What do you like to do for fun?
Fun, to me, is playing a round of golf on an interesting course where I'm not thinking about anything other than how best to execute the next shot.
Tell us about your first car:
My first car was a 1974 Triumph TR6. I spent my entire life savings (not much) on it when I was 15 years old. I had many adventures in that car -- including once, while trying to push start it alone, running myself over. Fortunately, the only thing I injured in that mishap was my ego because I immediately had to pick myself up off the pavement and chase down the car, which was driving off by itself!
Tell us about what you currently drive:
I currently drive a 1999 Mercedes-Benz CL500 that I recently found with just 30,000 miles on the clock. I typically walk to work, so I really only use the car to cruise to the golf course on the weekends – or, occasionally, for a long trip. It’s hard for me to imagine a better car for this purpose. Plus, it’s incredible to be able to operate such an amazing piece of engineering for, basically, the price of a well-used Honda. Fortunately, I have a mechanic with whom I would trust my life.
