Edmunds.com Looks Back at 2009 and Forecasts 2010 Automotive Trends
Car and light truck sales in 2009 are expected to total approximately 10.4 million units sold, the lowest since 1970 when the country's population was 70 million less. The auto industry sold 16 million new vehicles per year in most of the mid 2000s. New vehicle sales fell 36.4 percent from 2007 to 2009.
